Sorry to disappoint all who were hoping I meant a DMC fanfic. But don't leave yet!! >< I'm starting up on a short story I wanted to write a while ago, and was totally lost at where I was going with it. But even though I have the whole backstory down and research and such, I'm not quite sure how I want to go about this part....

So here is a scenario: say that there was a big, worldly disaster. You can imagine something you'd see when thinking of 2012 or something like that. But anyway, basically, the Earth got too close to the sun and suddenly everything around the equator spontaneously combusts!! Most people are killed, and the poisonous gases left in the air infect and kill those who are exposed to it for too long. Now, here's my question: would you say that the gases and pollution contaminated the ocean water as well? And if so, would it spread throughout the entire world, leaving no clean sea water? I just need to know whether it would be safe to be in the water or not. Otherwise I have to rethink this part of the chapter.

Also, since my ex-boyfriend is being a total ass to me, I've decided to distract myself with writing (instead of hw ;;>>, so I may continue my DMC fanfictions as well.
